The STON automatic tool changing panel bender is designed around flexible tooling, stable machine structure, and reliable motion control. Key components include the automatic tool changer, 3D bending simulation system, auxiliary bending tools, 38CrMoAl upper blank holder, wrapped tool mounting structure, heavy-duty fuselage, and metal lubrication system.
The fuselage’s mainboard is 80mm thick. The fuselage and all structural components undergo annealing, four-step machining, and lean assembly. It is independently designed and manufactured according to the tool changing system’s requirements, ensuring stability and high efficiency.
Automatic tool changer refers to the automatic switching of the upper blank holder. STON automatic tool changer panel bender automatically calculates the arrangement of the upper blank holder according to the drawings, which is convenient for flexibly switching the bending requirements of the workpiece.
The 3D simulation system automatically identifies bending features, unfolds the sheet material in reverse, and plans the bending process, displaying a complete animated simulation of the entire bending action on the screen. It confirms process feasibility and performs collision detection, eliminating the need for physical trial bending.
An optional auxiliary bending tool can be selected according to the workpiece requirements, supporting both positive and negative folding. This is to meet the needs of partial bending that is shorter than the length of the entire sheet of material.
The upper blank holder is made of 38Cromoal material, making it wear-resistant and durable. All circuits and air passages are protected by guide plates, preventing compression and friction during W-axis movement.
The tool changing accuracy is determined by the thickness of the thinnest tool in the tool assembly. The thinnest tool in the panel bender of the STON automatic tool changer is 5mm thick, the tool changing accuracy is 5mm, and the tool changing accuracy tolerance is ±0.5mm.
All tools are mounted in a wraparound design, and with the help of a pneumatic locking device, bending is more stable and precise.
