Qingdao Shengtong Mechanical Technology Co., Ltd. (STON) is making steady progress on its new 35,000㎡ factory project. The expansion is intended to support the company’s production capacity upgrade and provide additional manufacturing space for its CNC sheet metal processing equipment.

According to the latest project information, the foundation and steel structure work for Workshop 2 has been completed. The next stages will include equipment installation, commissioning and trial production.

 Construction Progress at the New Factory

The project images record the early construction phase of the new site, including land preparation, excavation and foundation work. Construction machinery was operating on site as the factory’s basic infrastructure took shape.

These initial works prepared the site for the subsequent construction of Workshop 2. According to the latest project update, the workshop’s foundation and steel structure have now been completed.

The factory is being developed with standardized production areas and an optimized internal layout. These facilities are intended to support larger-scale, more standardized and increasingly automated manufacturing operations.

 Preparing for Equipment Installation and Commissioning

With the main foundation and structural work for Workshop 2 completed, STON will move forward with the remaining construction and production-preparation stages.

The planned next steps include:

•  Trial production
• Preparation of supporting manufacturing areas
•  Completion of the remaining factory infrastructure

All subsequent construction and preparation work will continue in accordance with applicable construction and safety requirements.

The factory has not yet entered full production. Therefore, actual operating capacity, production efficiency and delivery improvements can only be evaluated after equipment installation, commissioning and trial production have been completed.

 Supporting STON’s CNC Sheet Metal Equipment Manufacturing

Founded in 2006, STON specializes in the research, development and manufacturing of CNC sheet metal processing equipment. Its existing factory covers 20,000㎡ and integrates frame welding, machining, assembly and quality inspection within its manufacturing process.

The new factory project is designed to provide additional space for the manufacturing and preparation of these machines and automation solutions.

 Production Space for Panel Benders and Turret Punch Presses

STON’s CNC panel bender range includes suction-cup and press-arm configurations. These machines are designed for automated multi-side bending of sheet metal parts used in cabinets, enclosures, doors, furniture and other industrial products.

The company also manufactures mechanical and servo-driven CNC turret punch presses. These machines perform operations such as punching, trimming, embossing, perforating and louver forming. STON additionally offers a punch-laser combined machine that integrates forming and laser contour cutting within one production setup.

Manufacturing this range of equipment requires space for structural processing, machine assembly, electrical integration, commissioning and final inspection. The standardized areas planned for the new factory will support the organization of these production stages.

 Supporting Customized Automatic Production Lines

In addition to standalone machines, STON develops customized sheet metal automation solutions. Its product range includes truss loading and unloading systems as well as production lines integrating processes such as coil feeding, leveling, laser cutting, material handling and downstream bending.

Automatic production lines normally require project-specific layout planning and system integration. Additional manufacturing and commissioning space can help accommodate the assembly and testing of larger or more complex configurations before delivery.

However, the specific machines and production lines that will be manufactured in the new facility have not yet been disclosed. No unconfirmed equipment allocation or production plan has therefore been included in this project update.

 A Planned Upgrade to STON’s Manufacturing Capacity

The new 35,000㎡ factory represents an important step in STON’s production expansion. Once construction, equipment installation and trial production are completed, the additional facility is expected to help the company address existing space and capacity constraints.
